A urodynamic study is a 20-30 minute test where your bladder function is assessed. It involves filling the bladder slowly with normal saline, taking pressure measurements as the bladder fills. A monitor measures how stable or unstable your bladder (detrusor) muscle is as the bladder fills, the bladder capacity and other helpful information about your bladder and voiding function. You will then empty your bladder into a commode.
This test gives crucial information on bladder function and helps to determine the best treatment for your incontinence, prolapse or bladder issues.

Your urodynamic study will be bulk billed. Please remember to bring your Medicare card, and GP or specialist referral with you on the day.
