A urodynamic study is a twenty minute test where your bladder function is measured. It involves filling the bladder slowly with normal saline, taking pressure measurements as the bladder fills. A monitor measures how stable or unstable your bladder (detrusor) muscle is as the bladder fills, as well as the bladder capacity. You will then empty your bladder into a commode.
This test gives crucial information on bladder function and helps to determine the best surgical procedure for your incontinence and prolapse.
